Question Name that tune! (please....)

I'm new on the block, a classically trained pianist, from Burke, Virginia. I am having a brain freeze and can not remember either the name of the song or the composer of the song that I would like to learn next.

Here's the melody line: I'll probably hit my forehead and let out a bit "DUH" when someone names it for me. Thanks so much for your help!

AA--- A G A A B(flat) G F A---
G A G A B(flat) G F(sharp) G--
A F E F

E(flat, up an octave) D C B B(flat) B(flat) A

Then this repeats before it gets really big and runs all over the keyboard.

Default Need the name of this melody...

Hello everyone

I have this melody in my head. I've completely forgotten the artist and the name of it.

So I call to you, to ease my mind a little, and name this one for me. I've attached a recording of the melody in this post.

The melody that you can hear is sung by a choir in the originale version. It's very romantic and quiet. I imagine a garden with beautiful flowers whenever I hear it.

I'm sure you can help me. It's a quite used tune.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Saenjaina

I think you wil find that this is the Flower duet, from the opera "Lakme" by Delibes.

It is a beautiful song. Here in England they use it in adverts.

In reply to Carol : That looks like the second movement of Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano concerto.

Oh! Thank you so very much! I was also sure that the name had something to do with flowers.

Thanks a lot, Margaret.
And also thanks for moving this thread to the correct section, moderator.
