Ah, I actually have saw that scene. Amazingly, I knew some of the things he spoke of. All the tonic and dominant crap I have forgotten since I took my Music Theory I class, though. The piano is a great instrument and a nice stress reliever. When I'm pissed, just play the first thirteen chords of Rach's 2nd Piano Concerto and your pretty much happy again, lol.

Hi there,

I'm trying to identify the piece of music that begins at around the 1:58 mark in the following clip. Any ideas? Thanks!

I would wonder, if anyone doesn't know this piece...it is Bolero by Maurice Ravel, of course in very strange version.

I used to love DJ Hype in my hazy rave dayz DJ SS was my fave but I also liked Jack Frost and Fabio a lot. Too much you might say! Black by DJ SS is the best hardcore mix ever. I'm guessing the music in question is going to be sampled inside and out?

It says in the description that it is the Bach Cantata: "Eine Feste Burg."
But i think description must be wrong, It didn't sound like this track.

Leopold Godowsky composed an interesting work from themes of this operetta.

Default Renaissance-sounding piece

I hope someone on here can ID this piece for me:

I can just sit back, listen to this rather simple but compelling melody, and see the court filing into position before the king!

:-)

I'm ready to bet that it's some ballet music Jean Baptiste Lully. I just don't know which.

Default I sent a message...

to the poster of that Youtube video and she replied as follows:

"Isn't it lovely? It is by Philip Rameau, Le Temple de la Gloire, performed by the Philharmonia Baroque under Nicolas McGegan."

Now I need to find a copy of the sheet music somewhere.

thanks for looking.
