Default what are these called

Hi

I wonder if anyone could identify these two pieces of music for me. One of them sounds like it comes from an opera and the other from a symphony. I have provided sound clips below:

Opera tune
http://www.sharebigfile.com/file/997...-tune-mp3.html

orchestral tune
http://www.sharebigfile.com/file/997...-tune-mp3.html

Any help would be much appreciated
many thanks
scott

played frequently in commercials and I've heard it in some movies. Judging from the sound I don't think it's an old classical piece but something produced in the last couple of decades like Chariots Of Fire. I've heard something very similar in several batman scores, specifically the finale in the first batman movie.

Most recognized for that part (probably the ending) that has 3 long notes each going up in pitch. duuuuuuuuun diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin DIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

Everybody I know recognizes it so I'm sure if you list a couple of the most famous triumphant sounding orchestral pieces it'll be one of them. Then I'll look it up and see.

The second is the third movement of one of Beethoven symphonies. Can't remember which one, I'll have a listen through later.

Edit: It's the minutet and trio from symphony no. 1.

I haven't seen any batman movies but judging what I quoted I'd think the song you are looking for is:
Also Sprach Zarathustra - a tone poem by Richard Strauss (it is most famous for its appearance in Kubrick's 2001: Space Odyssey). It is the first movement.

The orchestral tune is the third movement from Beethoven's first symphony. And all I know of that opera is that it's neither Wagner or Britten....

It's rather Italian sounding, possibly by Verdi.

Default You're probably thinking of

Thus spake Zarathustra by Richard Strauss. It was used prominently in the film A 2001 Space Odessy as well as countless tv commercials.

The opera excerpt is the aria Questo o quella from Verdi's Rigoletto.

Default What is that song?

Hey all,

There is a scene in Mr. Hollands Opus where his son (cole) is a young boy and walks into his room full of students playing a classical song I love. The music stops and the boy keeps faux conducting due to his hearing loss. This is about midway through the movie. If anyone could help me find the name of that song I will be in debt to them for a while.

Default Feel like a total idiot--need help IDing Mozart tune

Hello all...

I'm an amateur fan of classical music, but not a big Mozart fan. More into Beethoven, Brahms and the heavier Romantic composers.

At any rate, there is a famous Mozart tune that I am fairly certain was in the film Amadeus, but which is not featured on the Amadeus soundtrack that I can tell.

The note sequence begins A (16th), A (8th), A (16th), A (16th), A (8th), A (16th), E (down, 16th), E (8th), E (16th), E (16th), E (8th), E (16th), F (up, 16th), F (8th), F (16th), F (16th), F (8th), F (16th), B (down, 16th), B (8th), B (16th), B (16th), B (8th), B (16th), A (down 16th), A (16th), E (up 16th), A (up 16th), C (up 16th), B Ab A (triplet).

What is this, please? I know I should know this...

Thanks!
