He uses allusions to Brahms' Academic Festival Overture which in turn makes use of an old Heidelberg University drinking song, 'Gaudeamus Igatur' which was used as the back drop in the film 'The Student Prince' bassed on the operetta of the same name by Sigmund Romberg!
Try listening to the Brahms first!

May I say that 'very nice' could be described as an understatement where the Goldberg Variations are concerned. I do not mean to offend in any way. It's just that this work is one of my most treasured listening experiences. I have the early Glenn Gould CD and also Keith Jarrett on Harpsichord. I love both versions and I probably listen to one or the other at least once a week.

Can you help?
Hi folks.
I am new here. Although I am not a huge fan of the classical music, sometimes I listen to it. My favourite composers are Chaikowski and Beethoven. The reason I registered is because I wanna find a musical piece. I don't know if this forum is the right place for my post, cause I am not even sure that piece is classical. Probably it is a new age, or it was composed not a long time ago. Anyway, it is from a bulgarian movie, it was filmed back in 1984. I beg you to take a look here:

At 18:46 min, the child is playing on the piano. There is where the sample begins. It lasts only a few seconds, but I believe it is enough if you know the track to help. Any suggestions who is the composer?
Thanks in advance.

May I say I couldn't care less?

It's obvious you didn't understand my remark was directed to someone that is completely new to the opus and, perhaps, whose quotidienne experience with music is not that inclusive of the classical subgenre.

Please accept my apologies, in no way did I mean to be offensive. I obviously did completely misunderstand. I'm sorry.

What is the song that mozart plays as a child on harpsicord in Amadeus. It's where Salieri was talking about his childhood. It's a very nice tune

I'd like to find out the name of piece of music
Hi I stumbled upon a one minute sample of music and would like help from the aficionados on the name of the song and performer so that I may purchase the cd.
Would someone be willing to listen in the hopes that you may know the artist. It is a really small mp3.
