Sounds to me like a bit of a pastiche. The string writing is very reminiscent of the ubiquitous and overplayed Four Seasons but the choral writing has a very modern feel to it.

That was my thought as well. The Requiem is one of his well-known choral works.

Thx a lot for your help ! I'm glad to see that I am not the only one having a hard time trying to find the name of this work.
I discovered the piece whilst as I was looking at the company from whom my sister had bought her wedding dress from. If ever I do find the actual piece, I will certainly post a thread

I suppose one way would be to determine what "lyrics" were used - I suppose this is Latin. Is anyone capable in Latin to the extent that he or she would be able to transcribe the words? I suppose then we could simply google for it

I need help identifying this piece. This was incorrectly labeled as Beethoven's 8th Symphony but it is obviously not that.

Labeled mystery piece

Actually it's labeled as Mozarts Symphony no. 8 in the mp3 tag. I looked on AllMusic and got a sound byte. It's the same isn't it? But a fairly fast version of the Mozart's 8th.

Default Does anyone know this piece of choral music?

Would someone in this community know where this snippet of sacred choral music comes from? I am working on a play in New Haven, CT, and we're really interested in finding this music, but have had no luck with our local resources.

Thank you for any help you may give!

Jesse

Question What's in my head?

Hello all!

I've had a melody stuck in my head and tried to reconstruct it as best I could via a midi file (mind you, it's very rough):

I think it may be a ballet and possibly even a waltz. I would also say the piece is light and kinda playful.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello.

Can you please identify this melody? I wrote it from memory so there are probably mistakes and the key signature is probably wrong. I think it is from an aria composed by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, but I’m not sure. This is what I remember about it:

Thank you very much.

Kreso.

i heard a song on my local classical station, and i remember the name of the song, but not the composer. so can anyone tell me who wrote a piece called Piano Concert No. 1 in E Flat, no clue on the composer, but it had a very repetitive rhythm. Sorry i can't be more helpful, but if you could give me an idea. i would be grateful.
