Through Google, I found the thread about Bruckner's symphonies. Odd thing is I wasn't even searching for anything about Bruckner nor his symphonies. To be honest, I don't even remember what I was googling. o.O

For the last few months, i've been searching for a forum for discussion of modern classical music and the practicalities of composition. I searched for a couple of more or less well known avant garde composers names along with "Forum(s)" or "Board(s)", but had no real luck until i tried Messiaen So that's what, or who brought me here...

I've heard of this forum since I joined Magle International Music so I looked it up
and joined. I was playing a pipe organ at the time and now I just play the guitar.

How did I get here? The short answer is that I Googled 'classical music forum' and this was one of two or three options. So I looked into some threads, thought that there were some good conversations going on, and that there seemed to be a wide range of knowledge among the contributors. That's important for me because although I've loved music all my life, and although I'm an Elgar obsessive, I can't really tell a crochet from a quaver.

Well, no, I can, actually, but my understanding of the theory and structure of music is feeble (and, worse, beyond rescue). I take some encouragement from Vaughan Williams's comment about the soldier who needed to hear the bugle blowing instead of being asked to read the score. Not that I'm brave enough to be the soldier; but I'm always listening for the bugle. Symbolically speaking.

I was not happy with my other forum so I typed "classical music forum" on google and this one was displayed first. I read some threads and found that it had people that are a lot into classical music and have an extensive knowledge about it. I registered immediatly because I was sure I would learn something. I'm not disappointed

Same as lark ascending, except that tc.com was not just one of the first, it was (iirc) the first hit. Glad to have found it - intelligent member base, sensible layout (not garish like most fora these days), just generally really good, and well run.

Default A New Song Awaiting Criticism

I am a recording artist interested in the opinions of those who visit this forum. I found this web site through ask.com. Anyone who has the time to listen to my song Mischievous Keys and comment on it I would appreciate it. My purpose in posting this is to gain insight through the thoughtful criticism of those who read this forum. The song was written in B harmonic minor in a 3/4 time signature. The entire song can be heard without purchasing at www.myspace.com/musicbyclintwaddell

I was looking for a forum to read and discuss about classical music since a while. actually I was looking for one in turkish, but sadly I couldn't find but a few forums with no perspective. so I decided to give it a try in english, and googled ,as usual, "classical music forum", and TC was one of the first results. it looked like the most comprehensive and friendly one, so I decided to join. though it will take me some time to get used to the english content, I'm sure I'll enjoy the time spent here. =)

Well, I've already been a member of Russian and Ukrainian Classical forums for some time
(I just ran through them while seeking for some information). Then i thought that there might be a forum uniting classical music lovers from all over the world. So... I don't want to sound banal, but... It was Google, which helped me!!!
And now I am here and I am happy to greet everyone!!!
