Ernani by Giuseppe Verdi

I have two versions, both bought while on holiday in Milan. There's something special about going into a music shop in Italy & asking for a copy of a Verdi opera.



For me the Gardelli wins easily. But I love how Gardelli does early Verdi.

I love Ernani, some find the ending contrived and overly dramatic but the singing and music are great!
Too bad this has become so expensive on the used market

Annie the Gardelli is great also and one of the rare chances to hear studio recording with Sylvia Sass......
