Thread: Beethoven's SQ No.9 Razumovsky III movement - what does it resemble?

Every time when I listen to this movement I get the feeling that the melody in the beginning is taken from somewhere else, and for some reason Mozart comes to my mind.
So for once I've decided to clarify this issue that's been bothering me for quite a while now - am I just confusing something, or does it really resemble another piece?

Well after checking Mozart for a fairly short time, i came to the conclusion that for some reason it resembles the famous Lacrimosa movement from his Requiem.

A truly devastating piece of music.
