Thread: Can't Edit Profile

So I received the activation e-mail and clicked the hyperlink and was told that my account was already activated and asked my to log in. I was already logged in at the time so I decided to try to edit my profile. I was told I do not have permissions to view the page and I also do not have permissions to view the general settings page, either.

Help with this would be greatly appreciated.

But seriously, ALL brand-new members will run into this. Why? Well, it was because $p@mm€r$ would register on this site and enter $p@m in every available space in their profile field. When newer members contribute a little bit (via posts), eventually they'll find that they're be able to gain access to fields that they couldn't get into before.

Thanks for this information. This is understandable. I usually update my profile as soon as I join a forum, so it caught me off guard.

I have never run into this sort of thing before, either. But, I guess it does make sense!

However, I AM wanting to get my profile in order..... ;-)
