    Default Conductor News

Rather than starting a new thread for each and every conductor, I thought it made sense to have one thread that could keep us abreast of newsworthy events. Orchestra changes, passings, scandals, for example.

Article linkage is good. It helps guard against the crude, as well as unsubstantiated.

I'll kick it off with some Kent Nagano news.

Re The Met, enough is enough of Levine. Luisi has the right 'tude, and should be hired fulltime.

We can only guess that his predecessor had enough of Friday night disco.

I was surprised to read that Tonhalle has over a hundred musicians. Never sounded like it to me.

I did like some of their R. Strauss with Zinman.
