I've always like the Amadeus Quartet's recording of the DATM (it's also coupled with a superb reading of the "Trout" quintet with Emil Gilels on the keys). And yes, the Quintet in C is marvelous. And, since the discussion seems to have turned to chamber works in general, I'd like to mention the brilliance of the Barṭk quartets- truly one of the top 10 essential 20th century works.
