Clues:

- soprano, choir and orchestra, but could be from an opera
- written any time from 1850 to now
- the composer’s tonal and likes interrupted cadences. He’s studied Bach chorales
- not slushy enough to be Mahler
- could be a Russian patriot from WW2 - a tune which Stalin could hum. Surely not Prokofiev or Shostachovich?
- what’s with those sudden jaunty changes of mood? Sounds like opera scoring
- what's the language? I can’t make it out. Sounds German, a Slavic language, even Yiddish.
