He uses allusions to Brahms' Academic Festival Overture which in turn makes use of an old Heidelberg University drinking song, 'Gaudeamus Igatur' which was used as the back drop in the film 'The Student Prince' bassed on the operetta of the same name by Sigmund Romberg!
