Thread: King of Instruments

Ummm...
got bored.

I voted for organ, though it is the QUEEN of instruments for me! I had the possibility to have lessons for one year. It was an unforgettable event. When you play the organ it is heaven. The colours you can create, the motions,... wounderful. And your whole body is music: from head to the fingers to the feet! I will never forget this time!

The King of all instruments by far must be the violin. It will destroy all that stand in its path. It dictates to whomever it pleases.

It's gotta be voice ... nothing like using your own vocal cords and mouth to make your instrument! I play the violin because I really like music and it's an instrument I can and will play! I like the brass/wind instruments, but I thought the spit was really gross. That's the only reason I play a stringed instrument instead of something I put my mouth on ... also there's hygiene ... some people pick up other people's instruments and play them. Every time I've seen that happen with a wind instrument I practically got ill. But no one can take my voice and borrow it!

I especially love a good tenor voice. That should be the king of voice music!

King of Instruments is traditionally well known as the ORGAN.

It has got to be the human voice.
No doubt about that.
Nothing can be as powerful and direct as that. And it's the earliest form of musical expression...way b4 the strings, the harp and blah.

Are you sure the voice is an instrument Daniel? I mean, what do you consider to define an instrument? Anything that makes a noise when we want it to? I thought it had to be an object outside of the body.

Not makes a noise, but makes music! The voice does that.

Yes I know, but how does one define music? I like the sound of leaves blowing in the wind, but is that music?

Music is sound with time.
Assuming you know about "sound" and "noise."
Leaves in the wind is noise.

My next door neighbour's dumb dog barks with perfect time. It has a better beat than I do sometimes! I would consider that an instrument of torture, so maybe you are right...

Voice is definately an instrument. All what you have to do and care of an instrument, the same with voice. Actually I have a horrible voice, but never mind...
