Default I think I shall enjoy this!!!!!

    Hello to everyone out there.
Having a quick browse through the site before registering and reading a few of the threads, it came as a very pleasant surprise to see that it IS possible to combine a love of music AND a sense of humour, a combination sadly lacking on quite a few of the sites I've visited!!!
It's also good to see there are paople out there who are not afraid of NOT liking something, and saying so. Anyone in the UK who has had the misfortune to listen to Classic FM with it's "everything is wonderful" approach will know exactly what I mean.

For the record - My musical interests are fairly varied but mainly rooted in the 19th Century Austro-German repertoire and I have a very strong interest in piano concertos, especially rarities. I am also an avid fan of "lighter" paino music starting with ragtime and going through to the 30's; Fats Waller, Charlie Kunz, Billy Mayerl etc, etc. I have played the piano from the age of 8 and currently own and enjoy a Roland HP204 Digital.

I lok forward to taking an active part in these pages/

    Hi Mayerl

    Welcome to the forum

Good to have you here. I think a love of music definately needs a sense of humour at some time.

    Enjoy your time here

Living in a 2nd floor flat with others below me makes a digital the only alternative to not playing at all. NO ARGUMENT!!
I was, until a year ago, under the impression that there was no substitute for the real thing; how wrong could I be.

I,m excited to be here,"Hello" to all. Music is the infinite joy of my life. I listen every moment possible, would say I have a fair knowledge of composers, Beethoven taking the lead. Brahms, close. Bruckner .Lately I have been playing Chamber music, so Mendelssohn's Octet, beethovens Septet,Brahm'Piano Quintet. Any further Mendelssohn
chamber music I'd be happy to hear as I know I need to have more on my shelve, Thanks
