We welcome Romeo and Juliette's of all kinds! There is no discrimination in TC!
Would it save everybody a lot of time if I gave up and went mad now?

A little bit faster paced, and good visuals.

If you're ever in Prague, make your way to theHybernia Theatre for a performance.

Also, for us US citizens, New York performance.

The New York City Ballet production is quite good. I also saw it in Berlin.

I totally disagree with the person who stated "No greater woe than Prokofiev's Juliet and Romeo." This is one of my top five ballets, especially Nureyev's interpretation.

Romeo and Juliet is a great example of ballet music too good to not have a complete recording of the work. I've had the Maazel/Cleveland for quite a while now as well as the Myung Whun Chung/Concertgebouw DG release of highlights.
The imaginative and abundant amount of memorable ideas that flow throughout the score are astonishing. Prokofiev had a unique way of blending discord with beauty. In Romeo and Juliet he brought his gift of melody as well as his ability to twist the simplest of phrases into near tonal collapse and then create a new idea that would stay in one's head for days.
I like Cinderella as well. I'm happy with the Ashkenazy/Decca recording of it. Glazunov's The Seasons is a very good fill-up on that two disc set.
