How can I resist a username like that plus with a smiley avatar?
I listened. It does sound familiar, maybe something by Vivaldi. But right now my head is still ringing from listening to the whole clip. Really, the rest of the song is pretty overwhelming.
To spare others who don't like rap from listening to the whole piece the classic samples that BeNicePlz is asking about most clearly appear at:
0 to 13 seconds
1:14 to 1:32
3:15 to the end
I puked. and more so because I can't figure it out.
Orchestral work (classical-era orchestra), cadence in F minor....
reminded me of Haydn's 49th, but it wasn't this.
If that's in F minor then it's not Vivaldi. He only wrote two orchestral pieces in F minor. That's Winter from Four Seasons and Violin Concerto RV 143. I've only been able to find one movement from RV143 but it's got a continuo which those samples didn't.
Still the key of F minor wasn't a popular one. (Haydn only wrote that one symphony in F minor.) BeNicePlz can try searching for orchestral pieces in the F minor key, depends on how badly s/he wants to find it.
Mind you, despite the fact I did not like the clip BeNicePlz linked I, for one, approve of sampling classical music in other genres. I'm impressed to find it in a rap piece, impressed that this rapper knew this classical piece and hope it might spark an interest in others about classical music. I'm all for that.![]()
Well, the whole piece doesn't need to be in F minor, it could just be a part of a mvmt.
Maybe we need to be looking at it's relative, A major.
I have only just spotted this request which is now some 2 weeks old.
It doesn't sound anything like any work by Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven.
I am pretty sure that the work is by Vivaldi, and I reckon it is the first movement of his Violin Concerto in E major, RV 264.
I think it is perfectly clear that it not a standard piece of classical music, but a piece of rap or such-like. The implied question however is what piece of classical music underlies it?
If you read Margaret's helpful posts you will see that she indicated the places in the video where the classical theme is most clear. As I have stated, in my opinion it is Vivaldi's Violin Concerto in E major, RV 264. In fact I am pretty sure it is.
