Default The Commanding Beethoven Pianist (Voting Round)

Welcome to the voting round where the 30 pianists you selected compete for the title of The Commanding Beethoven Pianist.

    Voting Rules:

    1. You may vote only once each day.

    2. Each pianist starts the game with 3 points.

    3. You have (4) plus-points to use each day; 2 points must be allocated to one particular pianist with the remaining 2 points split between two other pianists.

    4. You may also assign 1 minus point to one of the pianists. This is optional but do keep in mind that the solitary point is good to use to rid the board of entries getting little traction and to employ for various strategic purposes.

    5. The game concludes with the first pianist to reach 30 points.

    Let's Start Voting:

    Géza Anda - 3
    Claudio Arrau - 3
    Paul Badura-Skoda - 3

I am surprised that Géza Anda was chosen for this game. To my knowledge he has only recorded three LvB sonatas (7,14 and 28) and two concertos. There are also a few released live concerto recordings. I have heard him play Beethoven at a recital, and I admit that he was good, but his importance as Beethoven interpreter remains relatively small.

That's three concertos as well as the Triple Concerto. But yes, it's a small Beethoven discography. The person who selected Anda said that he should be on the list. There you have it.
