Here you can find answers to questions about how the board works. Use the links or search box below to find your way around.
New members access to their profiles is restricted until after having made at least 10 posts in any of the Classical music discussion threads. Posts within the Community Forum do not count towards this requirement.
Members may not post/blog any messages or insert any images, nor insert URL links to any images or text that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise in violation of any laws. Before posting any image, please be certain that you have the express written permission of the copyright owner(s) and have provided a copy of such to the forum staff.
Members may not advertise nor insert URL links to any commercial or non-commercial products or websites within their personal profile page, within blogs, nor in threads/posts. You may post promotional links within the designated area(s): The »Classifieds« forum, only if they apply solely to Classical Music and no other genre, unless given express permission by the owners of Talk Classical.
It is also forbidden to advertise items for sale in threads, posts, Private Messages, Visitor Messages, or Blogs.
It is strictly prohibited to solicit traffic to any sites competing with Talk Classical in any way, including but not limited to, links in posts, signatures, profile information, PM's, VM's, eMails, IM's, or Blog pages.
Any kind of material copyrighted or owned by any individual or entity other than the member may not be posted on Talk Classical without the consent of the owner. If such an event occurs, the individual posting the information shall be held solely responsible. Talk Classical shall not be held responsible for member-posted information that may violate copyright law.
Guidelines for General Behavior
Be polite to your fellow members. If you disagree with them, please state your opinion in a »civil« and respectful manner. This applies to all communication taking place on talkclassical.com, whether by means of posts, private messages, visitor messages, blogs and social groups.
A special forum has been created for Political and/or Religious discussions that are related to Classical Music. If members wish to create topics for discussion regarding political and religious topics not related to Classical Music, such will be strictly limited to Social Groups only. As always, the same rules apply to Social Groups as they do on the open boards.
»Trolling« is not welcome. A »troll« is someone who intentionally posts derogatory or inflammatory messages with the deliberate intent to bait users into responding, ranging from subtle jibes to outright personal attacks.
Do not post comments about other members person or »posting style« on the forum (unless said comments are unmistakably positive). Argue opinions all you like but do not get personal and never resort to »ad homs«.
Multiple registrations from the same IP address will not be allowed unless approved in advance by the forum owners.
If you have any complaints about other users or their posts, contact the staff directly (by private message) or use the »report post« function.
If in doubt about any of these guidelines - or generally if you need help with anything on this board - you can always send a PM (private message) to a member of the staff, or use the contact form.
