    Hello, HPowders,

I tried to message you, and recalled that you had refused private messages. I wonder if replying to this very old message will get through.

Anyway, I wanted to thank you for your mention of Persichetti's piano sonatas quite a long time ago. I've been listening to these sonatas on a set recorded by Geoffrey Burleson, and have been enjoying them a lot. I find Persichetti's piano works to be rather contrapuntal in nature, and I wondered if this was one of the things that attracted you to them--given your enjoyment of Bach's keyboard works? At any rate, I find the recommendations from the many contributors to Talk Classical to be a great source of learning about new music.

Thanks! It was last year in Scotland, my first sighting of the Moray Firth.
Hope you're well, and wishing you all the best for 'The Season'.
Love to you & your other half,

You mean you have already landed in Hamburg? ;)

You should really come some time. We can do a moonlight cruise in the Elbe and then go to a Mahler concert, and then go drink a bier.

Thank you! It is the weirdest birthday I have had so far. But it will all be over soon, and over the weekend I am leaving for the beach.

I would never have thought that little quip of mine about onions would merit being put into your signature line

Glad it's improving. Anyway, we're too far away to use tin cans with bits of string in! It's a horrid day here today - 'Storm Katie' gusting its wicked way up the coast. Hope it's better weather at your end. Love, Mollie

    Thanks for the recommendation.
Re the photo - I admit, I was posing - you caught me. If one plays the fiddle, one has an unattractive double chin. :)
