He has about 14 or 13 up as of now I think? My favorite pieces are #4(d minor), #8(F major, whatever # the faster one in D major is, #17 minor, and one of the B minor ones. Maybe #28 in e minor too. I like these ones and others so much it is hard for me to narrow it down. And other recordings exist now of you want to expand your impression of this composer. I think Albero is a find, like a briefer, im some ways rougher and simpler, but equally as witty and with as catchy of "hooks" as Scarlatti. Some first rate Spanish infused baroque ear worms, with amusingly strange modulations at times.

Yeah I am all over the place with music and lots of other topics, more to do with arts than sciences these days. I remember we messaged a while back concerning aspergers and my writing style, in reaction to some dramatic young person stuff I had been posting. By the way, I am in Spain right now trying to learn Spanish.

Hello Lukecash! I remember from an exchange we had in the forum some time ago, that you were aware of the work on YouTube by Mr. Ryan Layne Whitney(teafruitbat). I also recall you have an ear for high quality obscuritied all across classical music, inclusive of the baroque. Are you aware of Ryan's latest project involving a set of 30 Sonatas by the Spanish contemporary of Scarlatti, Sebastian de Albero? He is working on recording all of these, and also has, in his free time, edited and published this set himself. Thought I would mention it of you hadn't seen the thread I made a while back.

I like what you wrote in the "Brahms Worshipper" group. (May I quote some of it here?) "Brahm's didn't write concert pieces like others in his day: He wrote exhaustively complete concepts. " Seems you really like his requiem a lot, which I am yet to hear for the first time. I am wondering if you are still interested in the more conventional way of doing Brahms, or is Gardiner's performance of the highest order for you now? Who else's Brahms do you enjoy best (particularly in the requiem)?

Hey, I'm a bit confused about why you were arguing about Christians in academia in that thread in reply to my posts. I never made a claim about the number of Christians in the academic world and was merely talking about population in general i.e. if you look at France or UK the number of non-believers has continued to increase in the last 100 years, and you can say the same for most countries. I wouldn't have a clue about the number of religious vs non-religious in the academic world, but I imagine there would be a good number. I wouldn't argue that position as I really have no idea.

It was really great. It felt like there was a strong, physical weight to almost everything she played, except for when she needed something gentle for the upper register, which she executed perfectly as well - that's exactly what a heavy piece like this needs.

Although, I think that style slightly let them down in the third movement; I like it much lighter, like Kremer:

You lead a very good lifestyle.I like that ,especially,to be a pianist.
Heh,I'm only a listoner. In my country ,not all people can have opportunity to learn playing instrument, especially western instuments. For me,I'm lack of music educational background.Although it is,I still love music.
I fell in love with classical music only several years ago,but ,because of it's strong power,I find a new world as I listen it.
I like the melody of classical music very much, although sometimes I can't understand it absolutely.
I got my degree of applied meteorolgy. You see,I'm a person for weather forecast or application for agriculture of weather forecast.

My hometown is a small town in northwest of China. But I got my bachelor degree in northeast of China. Now,study in middle of China.
You see, maybe I have been to a lot of places of China, but, I still don't kown it well because it's so big.Different place have different culture, just like the world.
I'm so sorry that i do kown nothing about instrument.Although it is,I like some exact music made by relative instuments, just like piano, violin, accordion, guitor and harmonica.
Because of passion and enthusiasm,I like music in romance time very much, just like Hungarain dances and e violin concerto.
I like Brahms,Mendelssohn, tschaikovsky and also Straus.because of lack of music educational background,I always find it's difficult for me to listen absolute classical music. But i think that may be not a problem.the more music i listened, the more understanding i will have.
    How are about you?heh
