Thanks for the friend request! I've enjoyed your posts. Hoping to have the patience/endurance to get into Feldman one of these days.

Come on, you know I can't abide sexual analogies as a moderator.

Anyway, yes, the Eighth. I know exactly the motif you're talking about. It does seem to win most "worst Mahler Symphony" polls, for some reason I can never explain. I love the way everything in it keeps developing and everything flows out of what came before. The fact that it's harmonically less complex than either of the works that bookend it doesn't mean it's a regression in terms of its technique.

Why did you leave just after the Beethoven sonata? I told you the next piece I posted was for you and you just left, you little dickens.

A somewhat delayed thanks for your friend request. We don´t exactly like the same music but I like at least Messiaen and Beethoven.

    Hi, Sam!

Things are going well; it's just been a fairly busy semester for me at university, and unfortunately, I couldn't maintain activity on this site as a result. However, summer break is finally (almost) here for me, so now I'm back :D How have you been? Thank you for the care :)

I hope everything is going well for you; have a lovely day!

Thanks for the friend request. Delighted to accept. I look to you for some of those more 'left field' modern recommendations :)

Thanks for the Brahms suggestion. I'll listen to it next. I love his symphonies and decided having just listened to all 32 Beethoven piano sonatas I needed a new project. So far I like his chamber music very much.

Indeed he is, I really enjoyed Il Canto Sospeso last night! It's been in my collection for some weeks now, I thought I'd finally give it a proper listen. :) My favorite section was "Se il cielo fosse carta" - "Le porto s'aprono" - "Com'e' duro dire addio per sempre". Some really haunting stuff, man.
