Hey, I notice you're here during school hours: are you accessing the forum through a school computer?

I liked it, although it sounds a bit too classical for my tastes..
I thought that for a short piece, it had enough contrapuntistical variety and harmonic movement to keep the listeners attention, but if you were to expand on it, the theme would need more work as they mentioned on the thread.. It's a nice little piece though.. I like the little syncopated rythms you use sometimes.. I love syncopation..

You're applying to Juilliard? That's awesome.. I'm actually thinking of doing so, as well.. Well, it's either that or the London RAM..

    Hello Senor Tearduct,

Actually I have seen your message just now. Indeed, I compose... Concerning your suggestion to reanimate this multi-variation-idea, we could do that, for sure. One sets up the theme and then waiting for intputs...

    Greetings,
    Daniel

I met Arturo Marquez today.. It was easily the most intimidated I've ever been.. He didn't seem too thrilled at the idea of taking on a student who's been studying formally for 2 years, who doesn't play piano and who has never had a single composition lesson in his life.. But he's going to listen to my stuff and determine at what level he can place me.. It was pretty bad lol, I mean, I don't want to waste his time... But, I'm pretty confident there's some good in my music and if it's what he wants from me, I'll be the fastest learner he's ever seen..
But yeah, pretty tough, meeting a famous composer.. :S

I didn't have a lesson yet.. Something came up and he couldn't show up .. But I'm hoping this week he does come..
I listened to your piece and I quite like it so far.. I like the definite oriental feel.. I suppose you're using pentatonic scales?? It's quite nice.. Good handling of counterpoint so far.. What instruments is it scored for??
Anyway, I'm gonna send you my piece soon, I'm just finishing off a section.. I'm thinking it's gonna be a large scale symphonic work, so I'll send you the first couple of sections..
