That's why I treasure this so much.

Although it's a compilation of three performances, I can hear my 'bravo' for Joseph so I have a visual record of at least a part of what I actually saw on the night.

That's great! I can imagine how enjoyable it would be to watch it

That's why it seems like a no-brainer idea. Assume even only 1% of attendees would be interested in such a dvd at, say, $35. That's about what, 50 people per performance? $1750 in revenue, multiplied by scores of performances per year, I'd guess profits could be 6 figures per year. Not a massive amount of income, but not negligible. If I were a customer, I'd expect a fairly low production level as the trade-off for being personalized and a static shot of the stage would be fine, thus keeping production costs low -- no need for editing or multiple cameramen. Just convert the video to dvd and you're done.

But maybe it's significantly more involved and/or I'm not gauging customer demand correctly.

Christopher Purves has a voice like 75% dark chocolate with creamy filling. Even though this is a comedy....
I liked it, although the tempi were on the slightly crazy side of things. Also, I didn't really care much for Bardolpho.

In the above clip, at 8:20 and on, those who think Anna can't do proper coloratura are in for a surprise. And do notice her acting as well.

And now for the second part of the mad scene:

She's a fabulous actress. I can appreciate her acting skills without being distracted by her other *qualities*

And here you have a nice mini-documentary about mad scenes, starting with an interview with Anna and her lovely accent, and goes on to present the impressions of some fabulous sopranos:

Wow that is great. I haven't listened to Iphegenie at all, will have to check it out.

For myself, listening to (surprise surprise) Ms. Dessay.

Voice at its mid-90s peak. I don't know that this aria can be sung any more beautifully than it is here.
