    I agree with you, what I mean is, that the German language for most is not acceptable whilst they ( the Germans) have a kind of "cult" status.

    Watched the Scala Masnadieri on RAI... nice production, although including Schiller as a silent extra just makes the already messy plot even more complicated. Oropesa is a delight. Cavalletti pretty good but not very villainous, he just seems too nice to be evil (or I'm just too spoiled by Ruciński's demonic hot mess Francesco who was my first). The tenor is absolutely unacceptable. They really can't find anyone better? In the Scala?

    I watched Rheingold from this production earlier this year and finally dove in and got the rest. Working my way through.
