Default Roberto Abbado, conducting in the Abbado genes

I heard Roberto Abbado conduct twice in these past few weeks, he was visiting in my city. He is remarkable. I know of Claudio's work on Mahler, which is brilliant, go figure that his nephew, Roberto is also quite brilliant. He really did a great Schumann's 4th last night.

Very cool that you got to hear the Schumann 4th! as well as a conductor from the Abbado Dynasty

A few other "dynasties" come to mind: Eric Kleiber and his son Carlos, Arvids Jansons and his son Mariss, and the brothers from Hungary Adam and Ivan Fischer

Neeme Jarvi's sons Paavo and Krystian have made big careers for themselves, particularly the older one, Paavo, who recently stepped down from th eCincinnati symphony and is now m.d. of the Orchestre de Paris , and recently with the Frankfurt RSO. Krystian is younger, and not as well known yet, but is gaining more and more recognition .
