    Default Tchaikovsky Mystery Piece!

Hello, I am a choreographer for a ballet school and am creating a dance to this beautiful piece of music. I purchased it as part of a compilation and the name is not included anywhere in the track information. The only clue is that it is composed by Tchaikovsky. Well, as prolific as this composer is, you can imagine my difficulty in trying to find it!

Here is an amazon link that has a brief mp3 sample, just enough to hear the melody... http://www.amazon.com/Simple-Yoga-Br...19760&sr=1-193

I hope someone can help me. Thanks so much! BrilliantDance~

I wouldn't bet that it was by Tchaikovsky. The first track on the album is claimed to be by "Ricahrd Strauss". It's actually a quaint arrangement of a waltz by Johann Strauss II.

I have heard the sample. I am not able to put my finger on it but it could be either of these two:
    A) Garden Aria from Yevgeny Onegin
B)' August' month from a transcription of his pianoforte as well as orchestral edition from a work titled `Seasons'.
It is played beautifully in the sample by the clarinetist.

Ding-ding-ding, we have a winner! Well, your suggestion 'B' put me on the hunt and I found it! It is indeed a Tchaikovsky piece from the Seasons series, not August but it is the month of May! I found this youtube video, piano played by Sviatoslav Richter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZhM9hc1uuM

Thank you SO much, now I can give proper credit in my recital program. And now also I have discovered the Seasons work, all of which are beautiful.
