Yep. I'm not sure whether that was a musical, religious, or sexual experience. Probably better than being there.

I have read the article and I think it its ridiculous. I have played for very attractive women conductors. Along with the fantasies they inspired me to play better in order to impress them.

I imagined that women players have fantasies about male conductors.

All joking aside, when I have played for women conductors I was too busy concentrating on the music. The one time I played the Symphonie Fantastique was with an attractive woman conductor. That is one of the most difficult pieces I have ever played. The bassoon parts are extremely challenging. I was to busy thinking about playing the notes. Now after the rehearsal.
It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious. And I am a very ingenious fellow

The Minnesota Orchestra seems very relaxed about Vanska's threat to quit. A quote: “Osmo may have to leave,” Davis said in a meeting Tuesday with the Star Tribune editorial board. “The board is resolved to know that that is a risk. Carnegie, the opening of the hall. All three may have to fall.”

Vanska has not repeated his threat, made quite a while ago, but it seems that the board is reminding him of it!

Hoping this doesn't happen, and I shall continue to bang the drum for Harding.

I quickly read the articles I dropped. I think it was mentioned that Vanska's conducted the orchestra once since February of 2012. With that, plus several key players jumping ship, plus a Board not appreciating his insertion into the mess...Vanska should leave quickly.

A little confusion in Minnesota? Vanska had originally set a 9 September deadline for rehearsals to start for the Carnegie gig and said he would quit if that date wasn't met. Now he says the date is "in the week" of 30 September. But the orchestra's CEO says that means an agreement with the musicians needs to be in place by 15 September, just five days from now.

Fools talk because they have to say something, wise men talk because they have something to say.

Nothing wrong with a little flexibility and patience from Vanska, but I expect the recording session moved to spring of '14 was largely the cause of the "new deadline". So, it can't be considered a bluff yet.

Admin's insertion of the Sept. 15 date strikes me as antagonistic. Bad blood throughout the triangle. Vanska should walk.

Vanska a face in the crowd, and September 15 isn't a real deadline.

Vanska and the Minnesota Wildcats at Carnegie Hall? WOW! What an interesting thought.
