    The Ashdod Symphony Orchestra

    Founded in 1992, the Ashdod Symphony Orchestra has a long established reputation for its versatility and artistic excellence, performing music to the highest artistic standards for the broadest possible audience.
    About The Orchestra:
    The Orchestra is made up of talented, experienced musicians who immigrated to Israel from the former Soviet Union where they performed in the most renowned orchestras.
    The Orchestra maintains a regular subscription series in Ashdod and for many years in the cities of Lod and Tel-Aviv. The Orchestra performs numerous concerts around the country through invitations by various groups and organizations, and appears annually at concerts organized by foreign embassies.
    The Orchestra is a regular participant in the ministry of educations scheme for special concerts on a nation-wide basis.
    In addition to performing the most world renowned classical music compositions. The orchestra regularly performs works by Israeli composers as well as popular Jewish music.
    In 2001 the orchestra was employed by the Israeli Opera, The Orchestra has compiled several CDs international touring. The Orchestra has Performed Frequently in Europe appearing in Germany, The Canary Islands (Spain),Hungary And Romania.
    In November 2000 participated In the prestigious Jewish Music Festival at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, playing Shostokovich famous 14th Symphony.
    The same program was preformed in the cities of Manchester and Leeds.
    The Orchestra was invited to perform in the distinguished Annual International Festival to be held in Vitebsk, Belarus, In July of this year.
    In September 2002 the Orchestra appeared in Paris, Bordeaux and Nice.
