    It's a matter of opinion, of course, but I've always thought "Qui la voce" from Bellini's I PURITANI the most beautiful soprano aria ever composed.

    I'm partial to Jessye Norman here, but the first part of this aria, around 2 minutes I guess, is one of the most beautiful melodies in the operatic canon. It sticks in my head for days. The last part of this aria is more like a recitative.
