I wish we could get a notification each time someone quoted/replied to our post. Would be much easier to keep track of our discussions, and who replied to who.

I think you can, in your general settings, if you subscribe to a thread, you have the option of receiving emails when somebody replies...

I can't see it? I'm not interested in having my email account spammed down from this site, hehe.

You can choose how much to feed your e-mail account. You need to go advanced and then when you scroll down, you get this:
Clipboard01.jpg
You'll need to enlarge it, but if you click on the Subscribe to this thread and notify me of changes: box, you can the use the down arrow.
The options are:
Through the control panel
Instantly
Daily
Weekly
The last three use e-mail.
You can also subscribe from the thread tools on the bar above a thread

You can also get to the second screen via forum actions, general settings, which is what Kieran was referring to.
Hope that helps.

Music begins where words leave off. Music expresses the inexpressible.
I keep a list of subscribed threads for that purpose.
It WOULD be nice if one of the subscribed thread options were "Give me a Notification when someone responds to this thread."

Isn't there an option where you can turn all of the threads you've posted in into a subscribed thread? That what I do...then I just go to subscriptions and if someone has posted anything new I will see it.

Well, a lot of different things is happening in a thread. Always a lot of off topic (which is fine) and other things that doesn't concern me, so id rather have notification when someone directly replies or quotes me - in case they are asking a question, or something else.

Ah! I don't use subscriptions that much so I thought that's what the Control Panel option did - much like notifications for messages and likes. Otherwise it's down to Instant E-mail and using outlook (or similar) to flash up in the task bar when you get a new e-mail. (Yuk!)
Yes, it's under general settings where you can set your default subscription mode. Same options for notifications as in manual subscription.

This site does not "spam" anyone or flood their email accounts with mindless blather. If a member so chooses to be notified by email of any updated posts to a thread to which they are subscribed, that is of their own doing, not ours.
There are several options for 'notification' of thread updates/replies, one is 'through my control panel only' where the member simply checks for notifications when logged in to the forum. The other options are
1) Instant notification by email;
2) Daily notification by email;
3) Weekly notification by email.

It seems like i havent expressed my self clearly, or maybe I don't understand a quack of the replies here.
I'm talking about getting a notification when someone directly replies to you, or quotes you. Not subscribing to a whole thread. Just that single function that tells you when someone writes directly to you in a thread. Many other forums got this option - and it works very well.
And i didn't mean spam like that. I don't want to receive stuff like this in my mail.

Best you can do (avoiding emails) in TC is the control panel option, and that won't tell you whether you are directly addressed. You will have to 'show some initiative.'![]()
