The easiest way is to inform the staff exactly which posting has the attachment the user needs removed. The staff then adds something like "attachment removed at members request." This is the easiest and least messiest way to handle situations like this.
The other method is to remove the file completely ... this is done through the "User Control Panel" --> HOWEVER <--, the rest of the post content remains intact - which can create a continuity issue within the thread.

Hmmm, thanks for pointing this out opus67 - I'll have to check it out and report back here.
Ok ... Checked it out ... users are able to remove any attached file that they uploaded. The options are under "attachments" in the User Control Panel pulldown menu. In the attachments window, there are check boxes to the far right of the uploaded file(s) ... clicking on the empty box puts a check mark inside, and then clicking on 'delete' removes the file from all posts.
However, we are always more than willing to help out on matters like this ... sometimes it's easier as we can also edit the posting at the same time.

Unfortunately there are no check boxes on far right ? At least not in my user panel as I'm trying to delete an attachment as well. Bit strange...
Interesting ... I'll notify Frederik of the problem.
If members need any attachments removed, please send me a PM specifying which post(s) (name and date posted) you need removed, and I will do that on my next visit.
Btw, all members have a ceiling of 16.0 MB for storage of MP3 file attachments.
