    I don't think he has ever come close to matching the impact of Einstein on the Beach. The Nonesuch edition of the early 1990s is the one to get IMO: it has greater breadth than the original recording and far better keyboard sounds.

    The earlier recording is good too. It has the advantage of using a piccolo in place of the keyboard for some sections, which gives a more sunny feel.

    The repeats in the opening scene are cut off somewhat, but if you play it twice it's pretty much the same thing
