Default Have you tried the likes of spotify, deezer?

I did the trial for these streaming services and was blown away.

Free trial for 2 weeks, just need a device and you sign up via Facebook.

Searches don't always find your album but it will be there.

I was listening to everything I wanted to buy. You download it to your device and can listen

How It works, you pay a monthly subscription (about 5-10 US)i. Download stuff, usually very quick. You can listen to it anytime no wifi needed but you never actually OWN it....stop paying and you lose the albums.

I found everything, brand new stuff, old stuff. Very impressed. Whole Ring cycles costing like US 100 downloaded to my ipad in seconds. For example, the new Janowski Ring ...way more than US 100 to buy but can listen to it all for US 5 pet month and more!!!

    Anyone else tried them??

No spotify for us Canucks (although I suppose I could VPN around that if I was really interested).

Tried signing into Deezer just now using my G+ account, and it wanted to know the names of all my contacts along with my email address. No, thank you.

I still use my free Spotify account, so yes, it is still available in the sense of 'use-able'.

At the time I started with it you had to get an 'invitation' from a friend with an account - I don't know whether you can still get, or need, those to use the free service.

It's obviously very useful to have it, as I can sample all sort of music I might or might not choose to buy. The adverts are annoying but clearly the service has to be funded in some way.

Paying the monthly fee for spotify is probably the most important thing i do. I would be lost without it.

I also use Spotify (US). I have the subscription version. It's easiest to find what you want by typing the opera name and conductor or singer. For example: Lucia Di Lammermoor Schippers. The sound quality is not as great as a CD but if you want to try something out before you buy it's invaluable.

I don't know where I'd be without Spotify. I also pay for the full subscription and it is certainly worth it to me. I had 75,000 plays in 2013 (that they know about) and heard so much wonderful music, so many new performances.
