Congratulations! Hope you enjoy it to the full. For $10,000 it better sound nice, but I wouldn’t be in a hurry to trade off your other amp after a day. The Pri is still a great one and no one could pay me enough to go back to an all-solid-state amp. For $10,000 you could’ve bought enough tubes for 20 lifetimes that could be easily biased. Nevertheless, the Mc you have looks beautiful and please let us know how you like its sound over time. Even with a high-end integrated amp like that it still takes time for the ears to adjust to really understand its true value and possible shortcomings, and sometimes that can take weeks or months. At the very least, the McIntosh will probably have three or four times the power per channel than the PrimaLuna and maybe that’s what was missing before. But the quality of sound and the power of sound are not necessarily the same thing. Still, your new amp looks pretty amazing and its sound probably is too.

Oh, it does! It's warm and detailed. It might yield a tiny bit of warmth to my Primaluna, but the details and clarity are more impressive to me. In fact, I'm selling my PrimaLuna HP if anyone is interested. PM for info.

I sold my PrimaLuna, and I won't be looking back! The more I listen to it, the more I like it, and I don't notice that much of a loss of warmth/realism compared to the PL. The built-in DAC and phono stage are both superb. The DAC will play up to DSD256 files, so that covers pretty much anything I'm likely to play. I'm now selling my Musical Surroundings Nova II phono stage if anyone is interested.
