    Default Mystery Sheetmusic (Scan)

I have no details about this piece except that it was printed on a handbag. It looks fugal. Can anyone identify it?

    I don't know. Perhaps a prelude/fugue by Shoshtakovitch?

It's from the middle of Contrapunctus 11 of Bach's Kunst der Fuge. By the dynamic markings it looks like it's from Czerny's edition.

It's sometimes a shock to see Bach music because it's so crunchy looking! PS please elucidate on the mysterious Bach-carrying handbag!

It is merely a message from someone's purse.

Great catch. I went through all of WTK, but only skimmed the Art of Fugue.

Unfortunately, I don't have any back-story on the handbag. It belongs to a friend of a coworker, neither of whom is musical. I assume the bag was purchased in a second-hand store, but I have no idea why anyone would make or sell such a thing. It seems like such an arbitrary selection of music.
