You were presumably referring to the fact that Moses is on the eastern pediment of the Supreme Court building? Holding the Ten Commandments which he received from God?

    Right?

I was merely pointing out that the Semitic God 'Yahweh' comes from the Canaanite god Yahveh.

I can understand it not being palatable, but ..... let's get back to Maria Callas, possibly?

Obviously you have issues with religion, so i'll end it here. friendly.

The origins of the god are unclear: an influential suggestion, although not universally accepted,........ Wiki

I don't have issues with religion, some people just have issues with reason and reality. ;D

I thank the gentleman for his kind remarks.

Yes. I've read too many of these 'great' historians who make a living out of speculation. Sounds about the same level as dear old John Allegro.

Problem is with these 'facts' is that other renowned academics see the 'facts' differently!

As much as I'd like to talk about "Lights! Camera! And me without make-up" realism-- it really is all about Divina and not the Diva. . .

So, getting back to Her, all I can say is that I'm Jonesing not having that newly re-engineered box set. I'm so excited about it. We're talking 'getting-a-surfboard-for-Christmas-in-the-fifth-grade' level excited.

Some additional info on remastered boxset, abbey road studios will be using CEDAR system for remasters and check this quote out by original sound engineer for many of the Callas EMI recordings when he stopped by abbey road to hear how the project was going:

"I'm amazed, I'm absolutely amazed. My goodness me, it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. ... It's a revelation. I was practically in tears listening to Casta Diva. It's remarkable. I am absolutely knocked over."

Don't for a minute think you are done just buying that new remastered boxset, there are legendary Callas live performances that are not available in any studio recording format, these are not in this boxset. Two examples that come to mind:

Although her 1960 EMI studio Norma (image 1) towers above any other singers recording, for me Maria's immortal 1955 La Scala season of Normas is the supreme holy grail of Norma performance.......again only available live.

The Pristine Classical (Andrew Rose sound) ambient stereo XR remaster is the finest sound I have ever heard for 1955 La Scala

-- and certainly two more Divine Performances which will be missing.
