    good news....I see that a new DVD of this opera with Juan Diego Florez is about to be released.

    Initial review not good citing weak singing,
    This, the greatest of operas, deserves the best.
    I'm sticking with Gardelli and Chailly.
    When all else fails, listen to Thick as a Brick.

    Yes, Pappano rushes the score and completely ruins Act 4 with disfiguring cuts,
    and some poor singing.

    And with Muti its so fast its ridiculous.
