Default Nereffid's A la carte poll #38: Audience requests II

Part of a continuing series of polls, which simply asks:
Which of these works do you like?

My goal is to build a general picture of the musical interests on TC.

Please vote for *all* of the pieces you like.
Options are available for voters who don't know any of the works, and those who know some but don't like any of them. Even "I don't know any" is an interesting and welcome piece of information.

Thank you to everyone who's voted so far!
You can still vote in all the previous polls; have you participated in the 1740-2 poll yet?
For the full list, see the blog entry linked in my signature below.

As with the previous Audience requests poll, some of the works on this poll have been suggested by poll participants. The rest are my own random picks.

I was being very selective this time - Debussy, Ravel, Schumann, Szymanowski.

Not with my help! Berlioz is the one work I'm familiar with that I didn't select. I've simply never understood all the raves. I elected 7 others however and certainly would have selected more if I were familiar with more.

I love the Berlioz and recently listened to it conducted by HVK. Nereffid, will you be combining all of your polls into some grand uber-poll results?

All of them except for Chavez/Szymanowski, which I haven't heard.

I'm keeping track of everything, yes, and you can see some results on my blog (latest leaderboard here). The current poll brings the total number of works voted on to just over 500, and they range in popularity from 86.67% to 2.38%!

Of course, the specific details shouldn't be taken seriously - there's too many flaws in the voting system for there to be any pretence of statistical accuracy. But the overall trends are useful and interesting if you choose to view them that way.

Henze 57 is a very nice and underrated piece.

    Do you mean it's a 'fantasy/fantastical' (fantastique) or it's 'fantastic/really good' (formidable)?

I would imagine Nereffid intended a pun here ... the success of which partly relies on the knowledge that the word fantastique is not directly translateable into English (and hence why the work should be referred to by its French name only)

of course, he may simply be saying that it is fantastic (in both senses CoAG suggests) that Hector is leading a poll

I voted for about half of them except for the Chávez, Henze, Rautavaara, Schoenberg and Szymanowski.

To be perfectly honest I had no idea what I was saying.
