Default What instruments can you play?

Curious poll. I know there are a lot of musicians among us.

Me: Flute (of all kinds) and piano.

Sorry to Singers, (Classical) Guitar and Harp players! Ran out of space for options. Also for people who play folk and ethnic instruments, feel free to mention below!

Piano only. One of these days I need to pick up a string instrument.

I played piano and clarinet as a youngster. I was very good back then; now my playing is pathetic. With that in mind, I sold my piano and the clarinet is gathering dust somewhere in my garage.

"None" option would have been interesting. I play piano, though not well.

I also play a bit of piano, but I'm not very advanced either. I play things like Maple Leaf Rag and easier Chopin waltzes (Op. 69, No. 2) decently well when I am in a good practice phase. I tried Bach's 1st fugue from his first WTC book and I got it down till about 15 seconds in before my fingers got tied in a knot. From what little I could tell though, playing fugues seems to be even funner than listening to them, compared to other classical pieces.

If you play saxophone, they dump a flute and clarinet in your shopping basket with it, so that's three instruments you have to practice. Then, of course, anyone studying music also has to fit a piano in. I also managed to squeeze in an organ. That was enough for me.

Keyboard primarily but I would love to be a harpsichordist, early keyboard player. And Romantic too.

I'm a visual artist, not a musician, so I'm totally an amateur tinkerer on guitar, keyboard, and a little mandolin. I am also completely enamored of synthesizers of all kinds though many here would probably not accept them as real instruments. (They would be mistaken however.)

Piano. My technique is spotty and I lack the discipline to really master a lot of the stuff I play, but I'm OK.

Long ago I tried to play some brass instruments, but that's best not mentioned.

I'm part of the 92% who play or played the piano, but I stopped because I have other priorities. I used to play big scary pieces by Liszt and Ravel (but not Gaspard de La Nuit which is actually too hard - and that's an objective statement of fact). I also liked playing Baroque pieces but I never played a single Beethoven anything. It's hard given that I generally prefer orchestra music and I think the piano is not a colorful enough instrument for someone with my predilection.

How very curious! Was that your personal choice or did your teacher(s) never suggest Beethoven?

Nothing as of yet. Maybe one day I'll get some piano lessons because I really want to play Chopin's Berceuse in D flat Major.

Try as I did to learn piano in college, I just didn't get very good at it. As far as your poll is concerned, "computer" would've been a good option for me. When I experiment with composition now, I put everything in my notation software ("Noteworthy") and let the computer play it back to me, and make corrections from there. This can be a tedious process, but when I started studying music (and later composing and orchestrating) I did everything with staff paper, a #2 pencil and good eraser. The computer makes it easier, but it would be MUCH easier if I could play the piano!

I play classical guitar at a decent level, and I play piano at close to an intermediate level, still working at both.
