    Default Anyone help here?

I have just purchased the discs of the Decca Verdi / Nabucco / Gardelli and was somewhat dismayed to find the libretto now has to be obtained on line instead of being in printed form with the discs. I have done what the booklet and the website suggests but there is absolutely no way I can access the libretto. Anyone else bought any of this series and has had any success. If so I would appreciate a few hints. I cannot at all recommend this series as it falls far short of the standards we expect of ease of access to what the booklet claims. I fell Decca are pulling a fast one in producing non-customer friendly software in order to gain access to people's emails for publicity purposes. Hopeless!

DavidA Sometimes these things download to the strangest places, particularly if they are in PDF format Have you tried a search for it on your computer, it may be lurking in downloads, music or even documents. I have a folder called downloadhelper and I have found stuff there even when I was sure I had the destination default as somewhere else. Hope you find it, if it is there!!

I've just downloaded the. Software Decca say you need for downloading the libretto only to find it actually stops one accessing it! Decca are hopeless!

I had the same problem recently and got in touch with Decca who just told me they were having problems with the website. Absolutely no help at all!

You sound as if they were as helpful to you as to me Greg. It amazes me that you have an international company who can't employ people to produce some manageable software. The only solution is not to buy the goods it seems. Pity! Culshaw and his team must be turning in their graves to see what a mess Decca are making.

Here is a reply I got from Push Entertainment:

    Dear Customer

Thanks for contacting us about your Decca Opera libretto. Unfortunately this is a technical issue which we are working with Decca to rectify. At present we do not have a timescale for when this will be fixed.

We are extremely sorry for this delay and the inconvenience caused.

    Kind regards
    Support

Can you believe how useless the technical staff at Decca must be if there is a problem like this on their website. Words fail me that I could ever receive a reply like this.

Nothing about customer service surprises me these days.

I sometimes use http://www.operafolio.com/list_of_opera_libretti.asp when stuck. They provide links to other sites. Even though it doesn't always say English translation you can often find one after you click the link. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be the case for Nabucco so my help is no help in this case! It may be useful in the future.

It's astonishing that their C/S can't be bothered to say, "we're so sorry; attached is a PDF of the libretto you were after."

I had the same problem and when I emailed them I didn't even get a response. I hated the EMI libretto on a separate disc but at least it was included.

I don't know if you ever got the libretto from Decca, if not you can find it here with a lot of other librettos to operas from Decca.
