One intermittent issue and one constant issue here at TC (with Chrome). I regularly clean cache, restart computer and browser, run virus and malware scan, etc., etc.

Item 1: Sometimes my texts on various threads are not spacing. I must go back and separate the words with the help of the cursor and space bar. Eventually this issue alleviates, with or without restarting browser. This issue happens nowhere else.

Item 2: When clicking on Like notification, I cannot access beyond Page 1 of Likes. This issue remains. It has not corrected itself.

Help X 2 would be appreciated.

    No idea about item 1.

Item 2 is a general problem which we are aware of but don't have an answer yet.

I know that item 1 happens when you past in text from Word. If that's the case, the "paste as plain text" icon will open up a small window and you can paste from Word into that and all will be well.

My own item 3, a continuing and frequent nuisance. When I try to go to a different page, I’ll get a big warning box: “Are you sure you want to leave this page?” For some reason, the page thinks I have an edit window open. I don’t. A problem of long standing. Maybe Trump will fix it!

Not having this issue myself ... although I have seen the "are you sure you want to leave this page" when I was going to post and the cats meowed for food and I had to click on the "cancel" button below to tend to them. They can be very determined when it's meal time - at that point our two cats ARE the center of the universe and they let us know in no uncertain terms.

Thanks for the post. No, I'm not pasting. Just typing. It happened again today. I didn't close the browser and used the cursor and space bar to properly space. Then I went to another thread, where the issue did not repeat itself. It usually happens only once per TC visit.

I can't view the last page of Stupid Thread Ideas for some reason. It always takes me to the second last page.

edit: The issue seems fixed by now.

This is usually a browser problem - cured (usually) by logging out, clearing the cache and logging back in again.

Krummie & Taggart, my spacing issue remains, when I respond to quoted text in threads. I use the latest Chrome updates.

I found this (linked) at vBulletin support forum. The VB techies were told of this problem by site owners using vB4. Apparently, it's a CKEditor issue in vB4 that does not react well with Chrome.

vB's reply to the concerned site owners was that there will be no further developing of vB4, and if they want a chance at rectifying the problem, they should upgrade to vB5. This "solution" wasn't taken well by some site owners, and the subsequently deteriorating thread was abruptly closed in its 4th page.

    I can see VB's point ...

From our standpoint vB version 5 is not on our list to purchase. vB4 is working just fine ... except for the Chrome browser issue ... doesn't seem to effect other browsers, so the cost of upgrading to vB5 cannot be justified when an older version of Chrome could be used instead.

We also have installed various vB4 plugins that may or may not be compatible with vB5 necessitating additional expense for those, let alone the newer software licensing fees and installation costs.

I wonder if one could roll back one rev on Chrome (to the previous version that worked with vB4) (?) Okay, not the latest and greatest ... sometimes we have to make do with what we have.

Thanks for your reply. I checked vBulletin forums again, and found a possible workaround for Chrome browser users--Hit "Enter" before typing reply to quoted text. I will test it.

I haven't finished reading the 3-pages regarding. Linked.
