Oh my God, you are not joking. I'm listening to Walkure now. Riveting. I love the fast conducting. It is so thrilling. Have you heard the Karajan Salzburg Ring on Opera Depot?

No, I haven't, have enough Rings to last the rest of my life.

I think I have enough RINGS too.

I'm fighting the urge to buy the Karajan Salzburg. I have to listen to the Kna '58 and Boulez '76 all the way through first.

And OperaDepot is offering a free full Ring (1962 I think) with Nilsson, Hopf and Hotter from Buenos Aires this week as well. Add another!

I already did I wonder if the Boulez '77 is as good as the '76 and I'm curious about the Karajan Salzburg.

Thanks for the tip, gellio! I'd heard of the site but had no idea whether it was reputable or not until now. Looks like a much better source of special interest recordings than Amazon and the like. I've started a wishlist already- unlike most here, I couldn't imagine listening to even one Ring, let alone several (sixteen hours?! ) but I found this very interesting Fliegender Holländer with René Bianco. No idea this even existed on CD!

Recordings can vary in quality as you might expect but in the main I have found it a great source for rare live stuff. And prices are first rate and there are frequent sales and freebies.

I left my shoes and socks there, I wonder if they’re dry? (apologies to Masefield and Milligan)

Operadepot are offering 60% off now, so I took the plunge and ordered a load of stuff, including that French Dutchman.

    That statement seems most illogical.
