    Igor Stravinsky.

Dr. Pepper would've made for a much more interesting thread.

I've listened to both Stravinsky and Coca-Cola and IMHO Coca-Cola sounds too Ambient and Minimalist for my tastes.

I could never respect anyone called Igor and the drink was never the same once they took the special ingredient out.

You prefer acidic tooth decay, ungodly amounts of corn syrup, no quenching of thirst, and a sick feeling to the stomach...

just because Stravinsky mixed ideas from different harmonic systems (or whatever the **** he did)? Really? Do you only listen to "pure" music, not "neo" music because you want to be smart or something? Are you some Aryan purist?

As punishment, I'm going to listen to Stravinsky today. And I'll imagine your teeth decaying, and it will give me more pleasure.

Life-changing fun for people who eat crap:

    1. Grab a handful of potato chips (crisps), place them on a sheet of white paper. Leave overnight. Inspect.

    2. Find the dirtiest coin in your money collection. Put it in a glass of coke/whatever for a few hours. Inspect.

    3. Give up junk food and listen to Le Sacre du Printemps instead.

What are you going to listen to? Can I recommend Dumbarton Oaks? One of my favorites! Though I'm guessing RW will say it's a Bach derivative...

Put Stravinsky on a record, you have a masterpiece. Put Coca-Cola on a record, you have a ruined record. The choice is a no-brainer.

For Stravinsky and Coca-Cola, I can say the same thing.

Between corn syrup and a great composer, I will choose the refreshing taste of Coca-Cola Classic™ - available in such proud dining sponsors such as McDonald's™ and Burger King™ from their innovative new fountain centers.

That's a good point. Are we talking straight from the fountain, from the glass bottle with cane sugar, from the plastic bottle, or from the can?

If people think Dumbarton Oaks is a Bach derivative, that just proves Stravinsky did his job right. It's when they start thinking it's a Verdi derivative that he's in trouble.

I cast a sympathy vote for Coca-Cola because it helped make Billy Wilder's One Two Three possible.
