    Default Living Conductors Game: Euro

The nominations are in- and we're ready for the next installment of the Conductor Survivor Game- Living Conductors edition.

To review the rules- members of TalkClassical (and only members of TalkClassical) may cast 2 plus (+) votes and 2 minus (-) votes per vote-post, either splitting them one each or giving both to one conductor. If voting, you must cast both of your plus votes, and both of your minus votes. A member may vote up to once per day.

To make things less confusing this time, the conductors will start with +12 each. If a conductor reaches +24, that conductor becomes exalted and has a place reserved in our part 3 merge thread. If a conductor reaches zero (0), that conductor is relegated and eliminated from further consideration. (This saves us from the whole 'negative numbers' bookkeeping we had the last time.) As before, a poster whose vote results in a conductor's advancement or consignment will have the right to replace the conductor exalted or dismissed. Two essential criteria, however, must be met- the conductors for THIS thread must be living, and they must have been born in Europe. Conductors newly advanced onto the thread will also begin with +12 points.

The voting will end when 10 conductors are exalted, or when 12 conductors are relegated. If this thread ends due to conductor elimination, then all ascendent conductors, plus the next highest vote totals, as many as it takes to get to 10 total, will advance. Ties will be broken by the first conductor to get to the relevant vote total. If there are any questions that have a chance of affecting the way you cast your vote, please ask them prior to casting your vote.

Here follows the list of nominated conductors, in the order of their nomination. The list will be here for someone other than me to cast the first vote:

    Osmo Vänskä: 12
    Mariss Jansons: 12
    Valery Gergiev: 12

    Riccardo Chailly: 12
    Esa-Pekka Salonen: 12
