    Default Greetings from Seattle

First post , and I am a newly coverted classical enthusiast.
A year ago I listened to typical pop pablum, then I saw Vanessa Mae (I know) live at a Celtic concert. I was hooked on the sound of the violin.
While I do like crossover, I am absolutely hooked on classical.
Still a neophite (baroque and romantic).
I love listening to the up and coming young artists: e.g. Yuja Wang.

    Regards
    J

    Welcome to Talk Classical, Mikey350D

There are some great classical music opportunities in your region ... my sis lives outside of Everett and travels frequently to Seattle for the wonderful musical offerings.

Hope you will enjoy your time here.

Yes, Seattle does have a suprisingly good array of classical music.
Some of the churches (St James etc) have organ and vocal recitals for minimal cost.
University of Washington and Seattle symphony also have good offerings.
Just got tickets for Tianwa Yang and Leila Josefowitz (sp?) later this spring.
Will be my first trip to the symphony, besides the obligitory Nutcracker.

    Regards
