Shhhhh! Some avant-garde operatic stage director may hear you and give it a try.

I heard the Proms Ring (the Prong?) on radio and was impressed - would love an official release.

Thanks again for that posting/hosting, Bill. That 2013 Proms Ring is a real treasure, and I'd never have heard it if not for you and your kindness.

    I second that Gardibolt.

    Thank you Bill H!

Hey, is THIS ARTICLE about the very same ring that you have linked?

I have only listened to a couple small samples but I predict this Barenboim 2013 Proms Ring surpasses the great Solti Ring.

Nina Stemme is an awesome Brunnhilde. The interesting thing is that I was just this morning
salavating over this Walkure Act 1 disk with Stemme as Sieglunde:

And I have been desiring this one for a long time which has Stemme as Brunnhilde:

I have the Bayreuth Ring on DVD. The production does at least try to follow the score (mostly) and the cast is pretty good all round. Some very dull passages though this might be my impatience with Wagner.

You missed his middle name. Lance 'the yodeller' Ryan. I had the misfortune to hear him live in Berlin in 2013. Ghastly.

But unlike the videos from Teatro alla Scala, Ryan only sang Siegfried in Siegfried for the BBC Proms.

There is a fair amount of crossover between the Teatro alla Scala and BBC Proms casts. I wonder if that is an obstacle to the BBC Proms recordings being released.

Even with Ryan the BBC Proms Ring is one of my favorites.

Proms for sure. Much better singing than the 91 release. Anne Evans - no thank you. Not a good Brunnhilde at all.

Not even close. Not one single element of the proms Ring rivals the Solti Ring. We will never hear any Ring in the foreseeable future that will rival nearly any of the recordings from the 50s and 60s.
