    Red face Hey everyone

So I joined this forum hoping to meet and make long term connections with people who love classical music as much as me, as well as other pianists and composers. I have played piano for 8 years and composed music for 2 years but music has always had a major influence in my life since I was 3. I was watching a movie one time and I would replay the scene where Tchaikovsky's Act 2 Scene 2 of his Swan Lake would be played over and over again. A few weeks later I taught myself to use a computer to listen to music online.

Unfortunately, I am surrounded by a lot of people who either: a. do drugs, b. primarily like hip hop and c. both a and b so I am forced to resort to the internet to make connections with people who share my love for classical music. I'm from Southern California and I'm 18; I will be graduating at the end of the month and after that I will be leaving my music career in the hands of my piano teacher.

It is my most heartfelt desire to revive love for classical music in the states and maybe even the entire world because classical music truly focuses on the essence of music, and that's what makes it so wonderful. I worry that say, 20 years in the future, people will have forgotten about classical music entirely. If that happens, it would be the same as the world forgetting the essence of music, and that honestly scares me to death. So, I am training with my piano teacher to become a concert pianist and then I'm moving to Washington state to start a music school.

I've only published a few full recordings of my music - three sonatas to be exact. You can listen to them here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6K...2V-SSOISTHJSLg I have a ton of more music than that, though. You can find my opus catalog (that is updated regularly) here: http://imslp.org/wiki/User:Faureisbetterthanurfaves Also, please consider donating money to either my GoFundMe or Paypal so that I can fulfill my ambition and life's purpose as I'm having a hard time finding a job - I'm honestly kind of screwed until after I graduate because there isn't a decent job that will hire me unless I have a diploma. You can find out more about that by reading my GoFundMe description.

Something else to know about me is that I primarily enjoy listening to music by composers that most people don't know about. Sometimes I might come off as disliking popular composers like Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Liszt, etc. but in reality I actually really love them and they're everything I aspire to be and more. To be specific I just don't like how they're so overrated. I understand why, but it's annoying all the same to me *shrug*

So yeah that's about it for my introduction. I hope I can make some really good friends here! )

Welcome to the site. I am pretty sure you find a lot of people here who are into the lesser-known composers.
