Default Hello everyone. Do you want to listen to my string quartet?

    Hello everyone.

I am new in this prestigious forum and I am delighted to be able to participate in it. Especially since I can know the opinion of very prepared and sensitive people about my string quartet. My composition is twelve-tone inspiration, but it is not very radical either. It consists of four different parts:

    1. Allegro
    2. Moderato
    3. Scherzo
    4. Rondo

It is performed by a computer program of synthesis.

I'm attaching two links to YouTube for the same piece:
    A. Video with music and a visual creation (made with java language) as a graphic score.

    B. Video where you can see the authentic score running in case you want to go deeper.

    Thanks for listening

Greetings Ramon and welcome to TalkClassical.

It appears that you are using Finale. If so, why aren't you using the Garritan Instruments that come with it? Actually I was told just yesterday about an excellent playback engine with superior instruments sounds that you can download and use for free for a month (32 days to be precise). You might want to consider it:

    https://www.noteperformer.com/

I downloaded it yesterday and tried it out on my string quartet which I wrote a couple of years ago...much better results than with Garritan.

Indeed, I am using Finale and also the Garritan Instruments. Do you think the instruments sound bad?
Thank you very much for the information about the new playback engine, I will surely prove it !

    You are welcome!

Some of the Garritan instruments sound good, some not so good. Definitely the solo string sounds, to me, don't sound good. The string section sounds are OK, especially at slow tempi and with lots of ambience, such as Church or Cathedral.

The solo string sounds in NotePerformer are MUCH better sounding than Garritan and I recommend them for your string quartet.
