    Default jiraffejustin's introduction

Classical music has always fascinated me, but I've never really explored it enough to have any sort of mastery over it. I know a lot more about movies than music, and I know a lot more about hip hop, rock and roll, and country than I do classical music. I guess I am just here to learn more than actually contribute any sort of knowledge or insight.

Welcome to TC jiraffejustin. There are a lot of people on this site who have a great deal of knowledge and insight into classical music. I'm sure you'll be able to glean quite a bit.
    Any current favorite genres/composers/symphonies/etc.?

Welcome to Talk Classical, Justin, I guess. The forum members have been doing a musical game that ranks the best works they can reccomend anybody. Maybe it's the best thread for you at this moment. Go to the last page for updated results.

The Talk Classical community's favorite and most highly recommended works

My question to you is: how do you listen to music? Streaming? Headphones? Amps?

Have a great time in this forum!

We have a great Non-Classical section here as well, and I would welcome another person contributing there who likes country music. Welcome to TC!

I am not too familiar with classical music genres, but I know I like listening to music for organs and harpsichords. I also really like Handel's Messiah and Bach's Mass in B Minor. I've also heard various symphonies from Mozart and Beethoven from just randomly choosing some of theirs, but other than Beethoven's 9th, I don't remember which ones I actually listened to.

I stream sometimes, buy physical copies of stuff I find in various places, and basically all sorts of ways. I don't have high end headphones, and I can't really afford them at this moment. I am a college student who stays broke. I do listen with headphones though.

I look forward to contributing there, because it's a genre I actually have some knowledge of. Yeehaw.

Welcome. Much as I enjoy it, I'm not particularly knowledgeable about opera, which I discovered relatively late in life, but I've found it's a friendly place here and it's interesting to read all the different opinions, many of them from members with a far greater depth of knowledge than mine!
